Lemon offers two key pricing models:
- Fixed price
- Payment for actual level of effort (Time & Material)
According to the “Fixed price” model, the customer and Lemon Studio, at the beginning of the project, clearly define and fix the following: requirements to the product developed, milestones/deadline and cost of works. In addition, we also define a schedule of work, including providing information by the customer, if it is provided by the project. Any changes to the requirements or schedule of work may result in the so-called “change management” procedure: suspension of the project, recalculation of all parameters, start of the project as amended. The advantage of this model is that the customer is fully aware of what he is going to receive, in what timeframe and what the prices will be. One of the disadvantages is a complex procedure for making changes to the project.
The model of payment for actual level of effort seems to be more flexible with regard to setting of requirements. Under this model, the customer defines which specialists are needed for the project, retains them and pays for actual level of effort. Furthermore, the customer independently defines and assigns tasks to software engineers. The advantage of this model is based on entire control over the team of software engineers and economic efficiency. One of the disadvantages is the necessity to manage the process on the side of the customer. This model is more useful for companies that have already had working experience with IT projects and have own IT personnel.
The price of the project depends on several factors, such as a scope of work, duration of works, technologies used, qualifications of the resources involved, necessity of further support of the project, etc. As a rule, while making up an estimate hourly rates are used. In addition, due to the use of finished modules we are capable of offering budget solutions for small organizations with standard needs.
